Why a Public Course?

Golf sharpens perception, physical balance and helps articulate breathing in children, it also promotes, among other values, fair play and competition in a positive way through respect and good behavior.

Today the opportunities to bring more people into golf in Peru are limited, especially for those who have less .

The San Bartolo Public Golf Course will allow everyone to have the opportunity to learn and practice the sport of golf. Children will develop their psychomotor, concentration, coordination, precision, and attention skills. Thru these skills and values they will improve quality of life and this is a cause you can contribute with.

The “Golf para Todos” initiative

Three years ago, the Peruvian Golf Federation had the dream of converting the old sand golf course of San Bartolo into a first class golf facility.

In the beginning we received the support of Mexican golf course architect Agustin Piza; who selflessly developed our dream into the design of an original golf course. Later, several companies and institutions committed to our dream. Among them was Paul Granger; one of the most well-known golf course irrigation system designers. In addition, the Golf Environment Organization will help us make the course environmentally and socially sustainable by implementing best practices used by courses around the world.

The public golf course will be built on an area of 24.6 hectares, located in the district of San Bartolo, 50 km south of Lima. Seven hectares of grass paspalum will be seeded, to create the 3,150 yards Par 35 course.

How will we move forward and complete the San Bartolo Public Golf Course?

The San Bartolo Public Golf Course will be a reality when we achieve our goal of collecting USD 1’200,000 that will allow us to construct the whole course starting from ground movement all the way to seeding the 7 Ha.

If all golfers from Peru contribute to this important initiative, the course will be a reality for everyone!
